Hybrid Battery Installing
1. Installation Program and Methods
1.1 Please read the battery assembly manual carefully before installing the battery, and follow the instructions in the battery assembly manual.
1.2 Check the open circuit voltage of each battery with a multimeter. If the open circuit voltage is lower than 1.25V*N/cell, then should charge the battery.
1.3 Check the consistency of each battery pack with a multimeter. If the module’s maximum and minimum voltage exceeds 100 mV, the dedicated charging cabinet should level the battery module’s voltage to ensure consistency.
1.4 M6*12 screws should be used for the 7.2V single-stick module and 14.4V dual-stick module, and M5*10 screws are used for the 14.4V triple-stick module; if the screws are too long, the battery may be damaged or leaked.
1.5 Please use a special torque wrench or screwdriver. The torque is adjusted to M5, 5N; M6, 7N.
1.6 It is recommended to create a battery file to record the battery usage to facilitate traceability.
2. Installation Precautions
2.1 All installation work must be carried out by a professional; due to high-voltage work, please pay attention to safety.
2.2 The heater or air conditioner’s ventilator should not directly face the battery. The temperature difference between the parts of the battery module should not exceed 3°C. The battery should be protected from direct sunlight, away from fire, and not placed in an environment with a large amount of radioactive, infrared radiation, organic solvents, and corrosive gases.
2.3 The battery is finished, and the product is charged when shipping. Therefore, during transportation and installation, it must be carefully handled to prevent short circuits, and it is strictly prohibited to fall, smash, reverse connections, etc.
2.4 Due to the battery module’s high voltage, electric shock is a danger. Therefore, when installing and unloading the conductive connecting piece, the operator needs to use insulating tools and wear insulating gloves.
2.5 Dirty connecting pieces or loose connections may cause poor battery contact, so keep the connecting piece clean at the joint and tighten the connecting piece; however, the torque does not exceed the torsion when tightening the nut (M5 is 5N; M6 is 7N) So that it does not produce distortion stress on the terminals.
2.6 Do not reverse the polarity of the battery.
2.7 If abnormal conditions are found during operation, the cause of the fault should be found in time, and the battery should be replaced in time; (Example: the battery voltage is abnormally high or low, the battery case and cover are cracked or deformed, or the electrolyte leaks and Battery temperature is abnormal, etc.)
2.8 All charging instruments should be regularly checked to ensure the accuracy and validity of the displayed numbers and to prevent incorrect display values from affecting the battery’s life.
3. Transportation and Storage
3.1 Due to the heavy battery, you must pay attention to the choice of transportation tools when transporting, and it is strictly forbidden to roll over and throw.
3.2 The battery is shipped with power, and the battery should be prevented from short-circuiting during transportation.
3.3 The battery can be stored at an ambient temperature of 0-35 °C before installation. The storage location should be dry, clean, and ventilated; the storage period should not exceed 3 months, and the battery with a storage period of more than 3 months should be charged and maintained before use.
3.4 Avoid contacting the battery with any liquid, and do not drop any metal impurities into it.
3.5 When the used battery needs to be stored, it should be fully charged before storage, and then stored according to the storage requirements.
4. Other Notes
4.1. When the battery is used and charged, it should be charged by a special charger or test equipment within the specified temperature range. Do not reverse the charging of the positive and negative poles, exceed the specified charging current, or exceed the specified charging time.
4.2. It is strictly forbidden to use only constant current charging.
4.3. It is forbidden to put the battery into the fire or heat it.
4.4. Conductive substances such as metal are forbidden to directly connect the battery’s positive and negative terminals.
4.5. It is forbidden to dissect the battery.
4.6. It is forbidden to modify or damage the battery.
4.7. It is forbidden to solder the battery.
4.8. Avoid contacting the battery with water, seawater, or other oxidants.
4.9. It is forbidden to hit, roughen, puncture, or shock the battery.
4.10. Using batteries that do not match the equipment is forbidden.
4.11. The lye inside the battery is very corrosive and will burn the human body. If the lye is in contact with eyes, skin, or clothing, immediately wash it thoroughly with plenty of tap water or other clean water for more than 15 minutes, and seek medical advice promptly.
4.12. If the device’s battery does not work correctly, please consult the device’s warnings and manual.
4.13. Please ensure the switch is turned off when the device stops using the battery. Otherwise, it may cause leakage. When the battery is not used for a long time, both ends must be completely disconnected from other devices to ensure the battery is not left open. When storing the battery with the charging device, it must ensure that the quiescent current of the charging device is very small (recommended less than 5μA), prevent the battery from forming a loop with the charging device, and the battery is over-discharged for a long time, causing leakage, charging, and performance.
4.14. It is strictly forbidden to mix old and new batteries of the same type with different or different states of charge or to mix them with batteries of different capacities, models, or brands.
4.15. When two or more batteries of the same type are used together, they must be guaranteed to be in the same state.
16. If you find that the new battery is causing alkali, fever, or other abnormalities, stop using it immediately. If there is dirt on the battery poles, wipe them off with a soft, dry cloth to prevent poor battery contact, leakage, or use.
4.17. The battery must be stored or used in a designated, dry, heat-dissipating environment (as specified in the datasheet, the battery’s long-term storage temperature is -20 ° C to 35 ° C). Store or use the battery in a special area, and do not store other items around it, including flammable or explosive materials.
4.18. When the battery is not used for a long time, it needs to be activated once every 3 months; the activation method needs to be communicated to us.
